PROFILE

||
|
|
Dr Saumitra Sircar started his orthopaedic career after completing his post graduate training at the prestigious AIIMS New Delhi.
|
||
|
|
He was by that time already a post graduate in general surgery from well known armed Forces Medical college Pune and had
|
||
|
|
been practicing general surgery for six years. He has since then performed numerous operations of complex trauma and fractures,
|
||
|
|
Joint replacement and arthroscopy with excellent results.
|
||
|
|
Before starting his orthopaedic practice in Kolkata Dr Sircar was head of department of orthopaedics of Command hospital Kolkata , the largest armed forces orthopaedic centre in Eastern region , for five years. He had successfully introduced shoulder arthroscopic
|
||
|
|
Surgery, revision hip and knee replacement surgeries here.
|
||
|
|
Dr Sircar follows evidence based practice in orthopaedics which is known to be the most scientific way of practicing medicine. Over
|
||
|
|
the years he has perfected certain techniques in total knee replacement surgery and arthroscopic ACL reconstructions based on
|
||
|
|
his own experience.
|
||
|
|
Dr Sircar has been postgraduate teacher in West Bengal medical university for more than five years. He is an able administrator and
|
||
|
|
after completing his MBA in hospital administration he has made efforts to study as to how to make healthcare affordable, transparent
|
||
|
|
and efficient. He has special interest in Geriatric orthopaedics including problems of the elderly and sports medicine.
